I've written a two-page review for Blueprint magazine of Engineering the World: Ove Arup and the Philosophy of Total Design.
The exhibition, which is at the Victoria and Albert Museum until 6 November, examines the early years of Ove Arup the man and the development of the global engineering consultancy that bears his name.

Images show Kingsgate Bridge in Durham. The Grade 1-listed bridge was designed by Ove Arup himself and widely regarded as his masterpiece. It was completed in 1963 and features a beautiful expansion joint that resembles abstract sculpture. I visited the bridge back in 2012.
